The peach tree has been saved! It’s growing and blooming. There may be hope for fruit by next year or the year after that. In any event, it has been saved. The apple tree is doing spectacular, as are all the other veggies I planted directly into the garden soil. The seedlings, however, the ones I planted indoors in egg cartons aren’t doing as well. Those are the tomatoes and the eggplants and the herbs. A fellow gardener told me to give them time. Tomatoes take a long time to grow. I’ll give it another week. If not, I’m going to have to buy pre-grown beefsteak and plum tomatoes. Hubby and I have our hearts set on canning at least 24 jars of our traditional Italian basil marinara sauce. Yes, I’m even growing basil but those plants are on my deck.
