It saddens me that there are some racist policemen that have given this profession a bad reputation. I hate war in all it’s many forms. I am appalled that some of the heroes during the pandemic are now turning to violence against peaceful protesters. My cousin, a policeman was one of three policemen killed during the 1968 Glenville riots in Cleveland, Ohio. Answering a domestic violence call they were greeted with an ambush. There were hundreds of bullet holes In the police car. There is a historical quote: If we do not learn from our history we will be domed to repeat it. When will we learn!
People choosing to not maintain social distances and wear mask and washing their hands will spread the coronavirus. They do not love, respect, or care for themselves or others enough to take precautions. WTF! I can personally attest it’s awful I wish it on no one.
Just as this Brit, I have distance myself from watching the news. I am embracing happiness and gratitude that I can design my daily activities to entertain myself with limited contact to just my family. Even together we wear mask and maintain social distances. We will Continue to do this till there is a vaccine. Viruses mutate so I may be susceptible to the new strands.
I think with rushing to stop stay at home orders and open restaurants and bars, we will have an uptick in Covid19 cases.

There’s this saying: What is stupidity? It is doing the same thing over and over again in the same way BUT expecting a different result. Ain’t gonna happen.
I think it is even a worst commentary to say, it boils down to your money or your life. Because people need money they have to give up their lives. What a terrible predicament to find oneself in. People didn’t learn from the 2008 Great Recession to even have $400 cash to their name despite the glowing economy. No savings. No back up. No nothing.
Sorry to hear about your cousin. I was just reading about the Newark NJ riots yesterday. Cities and towns completely destroyed, burnt to the ground, never coming back, locked in perpetual poverty. Has anything changed since then? As I said, stupidity.
Thanks for your comment.
We’re doing what we can for this Mother Earth as individuals. But after that, there is nothing more we can do. Best to make our lives happy inside a bubble, as the very kind and knowing British woman suggests. Brits know. They’ve had way more trouble than us.
Yes, turn off the news. There’s nothing we can do for stupid. And it’s obvious there is a lot of stupid out there. Can you say Seattle? Anyway, she’s right about picking and choosing who to watch, who to listen to, etc. This too, shall pass.
The news today is all filled with lies anyway. CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, even FOX news can’t be trusted. They omit pieces of interviews, misconstrue what people say…it’s been awful. Ditto for the press, especially the once great and mighty NY Times. Sad. Streets are being burned to the ground and the press calls it a ‘peaceful demonstration’. That’ll be the day when I can’t believe my own eyes!
