Every year, around this time, DH and I meet our daughter and granddaughter at an apple farm and spend the day out in the country fresh air. New York State is the apple capital of the world! Going apple picking has been a delightful family tradition that we all enjoy every year. There’s hayrides, live music and cinnamon doughnuts. And then there’s just the simple act of walking through the orchards and collecting different species of apples. When we get back home we always bake an apple pie or two. The remainder of the apples get turned into apple sauce. Delicious.
