The Columbus Day Celebrations are back this year. And they’re celebrating Italians in a whole big way. DH and I always go to this festival along the Hudson River bank. There’s lots of delicious food like fried dough (formally known as zeppole), cheese stuffed meatballs and every one’s favorite: pizza. There are opera singers, Italian singers (see video below) and accordion players strewn about the festa grounds. Raffles, espresso and Italian cheesecake. Admission is free and so is the parking (if you can find a spot). If not by car, then hop on your favorite yacht. There’s plenty of boat parking along the shoreline.

Wear comfortable shoes, prepare to join in and mangia!
