Situated on 120 acres, a park has been dedicated in Red Hook New York since 1850 as one of the best walking trails in Dutchess County. It’s called ‘Poet’s Walk Park‘ (click here) and it has been inspiring poets and non-writers alike for its beauty and peacefulness for years. Boasting of scenic views of the historic Hudson River, the majestic Catskill Mountains make a stunning backdrop to this infamous walk.

Poet’s Walk has always been on our annual must-do hikes and this year we didn’t disappoint. The afternoon weather hit 50F degrees, the day was sunny, the park fairly full but with enough ample space around you to make one feel fully aligned with nature. The leaves have turned and fall gently all around you. The river vistas are still breathtaking and those always present Catskill Mountains in the background help put everything into perspective. It’s like an almost perfect poem, for sure.
