One of the many things that I love about upstate New York is the abundance of rivers, ponds and lakes. You don’t have to drive very far to find a quiet spot, complete with a water view, to spend a peaceful afternoon in. Hubs and I finally were able to get out of the house this afternoon. We packed a lite lunch and grabbed some bottles of water and headed over to Lake Taghkanic. I heard about this lake years ago but never had the time to check it out. Today, I did. The lake and the surrounding area did not disappoint. It’s a little early in the summer season. No lifeguards were on duty but we were welcome to place out a chair, sit for a spell and take in the majestic, scenic views.
Note: All NY State parks are free to anyone over the age of 65, Monday thru Thursday.
