It felt good to be back in the kitchen using my oven once again. Over the summer, all we did was BBQ out on the backyard deck because it was so darn hot. For our first fall meal, I made one of our favorites: turkey meatloaf with roasted potatoes, caramelized onions and fresh peas! We had enough left over for a few days! Turkey meatloaf leftovers make a great lunch sandwich.

Of course, every Friday (or Saturday) night, we’re back to making our $2.00 pizza (probably $4.00 now, thanks to inflation!) This one came out a bit small. Hubby topped it with spinach, sautéed onions and lots and lots of cheese!

I love this time of year! The leaves are starting to change color. It’s a bit nippy out and I could use a sweater. I can sense an invitation soon to any upcoming Oktoberfest! It’s going to be tough, however to give up my shorts and flip-flops. I always dread getting back into my jeans! Hope they still fit.
